KUCHING (Aug 22): The districts of Matu and Daro have been reclassified as Covid-19 yellow zones after reporting one and two locally transmitted cases respectively in the last 14 days, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
After this change, SDMC said that Tanjung Manis, Marudi and Limbang are now the only three districts in state classified as green zones.
Currently, there are 23 red zones, namely Song with 53 locally transmitted cases in the past 14 days, Belaga (445), Pusa (174), Betong (147), Tebedu (229), Dalat (79), Selangau (93), Sri Aman (146), Kabong (51), Asajaya (145), Subis (78), Mukah (245), Simunjan (344), Tatau (167), Lundu (806), Saratok (72), Bau (1,130), Samarahan (1,555), Serian (1,805), Kuching (7,858), Bintulu (340), Miri (134) and Sibu (370).
Districts classified as orange zones are Kapit (37), Sebauh (22), Kanowit (35) and Beluru (34).
The other yellow zones are Meradong (7), Bukit Mabong (7), Lubok Antu (20), Telang Usan (3), Sarikei (14), Pakan (10), Julau (7) and Lawas (4).
The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no locally transmitted Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmissions as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
Meanwhile, the committee said the police have issued 29 compounds today for violations of standard operating procedures (SOP), with 14 in Kuching, nine in Bintulu and six in Kota Samarahan.
A total of 13 of the violations were for failing to scan MySejahtera code or recording via a manual registration book when entering a premises, failing to observe social distancing (10) and exiting Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas without permission (6).
To date, the police have issued a total of 10,118 compounds. No arrests were made today.
