BINTULU (June 16): Region 5 Marine police seized about 1,600 litres of diesel worth RM3,440 during an operation on Tuesday.
Also confiscated during the 11am operation by the roadside at KM20, Airport junction Bintulu-Tatau Road was a pick-up truck worth about RM90,000 and an electrical oil pump estimated to be worth RM500.
Commanding officer ASP Ezuandi Bahadin said the case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for carrying diesel without a valid permit from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).
He said two men, aged 23 and 25, were also detained to assist in the investigation.
Ezuandi said a police report has been lodged and the case has been handed over to KPDNHEP Bintulu for further action.
