PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a Marine Department deputy director-general over a shipping scandal involving the issuance of special approvals, says a source in the know.
The deputy director-general was arrested yesterday at the MACC headquarters after providing a statement to the authorities.
Four others were arrested, including a transport ministry divisional secretary and three directors from different shipping companies.
The suspects are aged between 35 and 54 years.
