Lubok Antu changes to Covid-19 yellow zone

KUCHING (July 2): Lubok Antu district reverted to a Covid-19 yellow zone after recording only 17 cases in the past two weeks, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

After the change, there are now nine yellow zones in the state and two orange zones.

“The other yellow zones are Kabong, Dalat, Marudi, Beluru, Limbang, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas with a total of 108 cases while the orange zones are Matu and Betong with a total of 70 cases,” SDMC said in a statement today.

The red zones are Saratok, Simunjan, Tebedu, Julau, Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Bau, Meradong, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu which recorded a total of 6,860 cases.

Daro remains the sole green zone in Sarawak.

The Health Ministry categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.

At the same time, the statement said two premises in Kuching were listed in the Health Ministry’s Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) surveillance today. They are Choice Bazaria and Emart Tabuan Jaya.

Meanwhile, the police have issued 47 compounds for violations of Covid-19 standard operating procedures with 17 in Bintulu, Kuching (8), Sibu (8), Padawan (3), Kota Samarahan (3), Sarikei (3), Miri (2), Lawas (2) and Dalat (1).

The offences were loitering in public places past midnight (11), not wearing face mask (8), not scanning MySejahtera (8), fishing in public (7), ferrying of passengers over the allowed limit (4), travelling inter-district without permit (3), operating premises that were not allowed to open (2), dining in (2), not providing thermometer (1) and failing to ensure working capacity below 30 per cent (1).

“The total number of compounds issued since the Movement Control Order was implemented in March 18, 2020 until now is 8,627,” said SDMC.

Similarly, the Local Government and Housing Ministry also issued a total of seven compounds with three by the Bintulu Development Authority, Miri City Council (3) and Sarikei District Council (1).

The offences were not wearing face mask (5), operating exceeding the allowed hours (1) and not updating attendance book or incomplete book (1).

This brings the total number of compounds issued since Feb 1 to date to 1,209.
