SIBU (Aug 22): Newly appointed Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to carry out his duties smoothly without interference from various parties that could threaten the country’s stability.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said nobody should question his appointment which was consented to by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Malay Rulers.

“Let us pray that he will be able to carry out his duties smoothly without facing any interference from other political parties that could cause political instability to the country,” he added.

Talip described Ismail as a person with integrity and attributed his simple life to his story of success.

“Ismail used to serve as a youth minister, rural development minister and had also worked in many ministries. There is no controversy in his performance,” he said.

However, he said certain quarters were only interested to twist the fact and said he had done many wrongs, which were not correct.

He believed Ismail could resolve the Covid-19 pandemic and also address the economic hardship encountered by the people soonest.
