KAPIT (June 19): Kapit District Officer Cerisologo Sabut has visited several public places used as centres by vaccination mobile teams here since Thursday.
Among those accompanying him were Kapit District Officer Bidah Lujah, Deputy Kapit Resident Galong Luang, Kapit polic chief ASP Fauzan Kassimin .
A total of 16 teams have been set up to provide vaccinations at villages, longhouses and settlements in the Kapit District.
School halls, mosques, community halls and the common veranda of longhouses are used by the teams as vaccination centres.
Speaking to the press yesterday Cerisologo said the mobile teams started their vaccinations on 14 June and are still moving to the rural areas to reach to the people who have difficulty in going to vaccination centre in the town.
“I am thankful to the state government for allowing people to register manually and receive their vaccination on spot bypassing the red tape of going through MySejahtera appointment.
Now, Kapit is going full swing and our aim by end of August 2021 at least to register 80 per cent of all eligible adults who are 18 years old and above”, he explained.
He added the response was from the people was very good as they arrived early at the centres and lined up orderly waiting for their turns.
Among the centres he visited were the mosque at Kampung Muhibbah Bletih and 64-door longhouse Rumah Jawa Emang at Sungai Amang, Selirik here.
While at Rumah Jawa he urged the security and development committee of the longhouse to assist the mobile teams in carrying out the vaccination.
Cerisologo and his team also visited SK Nanga Mujong, Baleh, SK Lepong Baleh, Baleh, Tadika KEMAS Kampung Sawang, Melekun, Rumah Richmond, Rumah Empati, Ulu Sungai Yong and Rumah John Rambar Sungai Sesibau.
