PETALING JAYA: Galas assemblyman Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim this afternoon revealed he has tested positive for Covid-19, the latest elected representative from Kelantan to have contracted the virus.
In a Facebook post, Syahbuddin also revealed that his wife, Nor Azila Sidi, also tested positive for Covid-19.
They had gone to get themselves screened for the virus after Nenggiri assemblyman Ab Aziz Yusoff and Gua Musang Umno Youth chief Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani tested positive two days ago.
“To all our close contacts, I apologise for the inconvenience caused as you now have to take a swab test and have been possibly exposed to the virus,” he wrote.
Gua Musang is among the six red zones in the east coast state. The other red zone districts are Kota Bharu, Kuala Krai, Machang, Tumpat and Bachok.
Earlier today, it was reported that Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rina Harun had tested positive, a day after Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Mustapa Mohamed contracted the virus.
