KOTA KINABALU: Former Head of State Tun Sakaran Dandai who was warded at the Gleneagles Hospital here since last week for suspected Covid-19, was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) on Tuesday.
His son Datuk Seri Nasir Sakaran in a video message made available to the media said that the doctor explained the necessity to admit their father to ICU.
“Yesterday afternoon, our father Tun Sakaran was transfered to the ICU, a move the doctor said was neccesary so that his condition can be monitored better and closely. We have been communicating with our father through video call and when asked about his health, he said he is okay and his appetite is good.
“I just video called him just now and he asked that we pray for his speedy recovery. Let us offer prayers that his road to recovery will be swift,” said Nasir.
According to him, Sakaran was admitted to Gleneagles Hospital last Wednesday and at that time, his condition was stable.
