KUCHING (July 5): Five localities in Sarawak have been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
Three of the localities were placed under EMCO yesterday and today while the EMCO will take place for two others starting tomorrow.
In its daily update, SDMC said a rental unit above Lau Hoi Chew Shop, Parkcity Commercial Centre is under the EMCO from July 4 to 17 and another rental unit above V-12 Shop, Assyakirin Commercial Centre from July 4 to 18, both in Bintulu.
“Rh Kunjang Sembayang Ban, Tanjung Bijat in Sri Aman is under EMCO from today until July 18 while Rh Dunggau, Mendas in Saratok and Rh Tapoi, Sungai Setajam in Sarikei, from July 6 until July 19 and 22, respectively,” it said.
Meanwhile, the EMCO in three localities in Mukah and Sarikei has been extended, said the committee.
They are Balingian Power Generation (BPG) workers’ quarters, Jalan Sibu-Mukah (from July 7 to 14), and in Sarikei – Rh John, Sg Minus Jakar (July 7 to 8) and Rh Edmund, Sg Baji (July 8 to 9).
SDMC said the EMCO will be lifted from 12 localities in Kanowit, Matu and Mukah from tomorrow.
They are Rh Sandai, Sungai Mapai in Kanowit and in Mukah – Rh Alat Mukan and Mukah Palm Oil Mill (MPOM).
The rest are in Sungai Rassau, Batang Igan, Matu – Rh Salim Unang, Rh Judy Kudi, Rh Mathew Merang, Rh Daggang Ujang, Rh Lait Ijang, Rh Chandi Kilau, Rh Putit Jugah, Rh Sadin Jeli and Rh Mador Rendah.
