Rescuers extricate the victim pinned to the driver’s seat.
MIRI (June 27): A man was seriously injured after the car he was driving collided with another car at Jalan Miri-Pujut here on yesterday.
Zone 6 Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Supt Law Poh Kiong said an emergency call was received about 11.34am.
“A team from the Miri Central Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene located about 4km away. Upon arrival at the scene, the team found the accident involved two cars.
“Inspection found the driver of one of the cars, a 32-year-old man, still trapped in the driver’s seat in a semi-conscious state with injuries to his face and legs and heavy bleeding,” he said in a statement.
Law said rescuers extricated the victim using special equipment before its Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) provided initial treatment.
The victim was later sent to Miri Hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Department in an EMRS ambulance.
