As a drone maker, it was a matter of time before DJI got into drone racing. And as it turns out, the company already as one such thing. While not yet officially announced, images of a first-person-view (FPV) racing drone have made their way online.
These images of the DJI FPV racing drone come courtesy of Twitter user @OsitaLV, who has a good track record with DJI products. The images don’t provide much information about the drone itself. But from them, we can see that this is quite unlike the usual drones made by the company.

To start, the DJI FPV racing drone comes with three-blade propellers, when it’s usually only two-blade ones. It also comes with a huge hump in front. This is presumably so that the camera tilts upwards to compensate for the drone tilting forward when flying at high speeds. And then there’s the simple controller, but with the FPV headset.
Naturally, with no official announcement, there’s no telling when the DJI FPV racing drone will become available. The same applies to its price, and what its spec sheet is like. But it’s something to look forward to whenever the company says that it has something to announce.
