PETALING JAYA: Dengkil assemblyman Adhif Syan Abdullah has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 and will be quarantined today for treatment.
In a statement, Adhif said he underwent a medical swab after his driver was down with fever for the past two days.
“Both of us did medical swabs yesterday as a precautionary measure and were confirmed positive by the hospital,” he said, adding that they were in stable condition.
The health ministry has been informed of their close contacts and more swabs will be carried out, he said, urging the public to cooperate with the authorities on matters related to Covid-19.
He also announced the 14-day closure of his service centre in Dengkil for sanitising purposes. As a precautionary measure, the staff will also undergo self-quarantine.
