Daro joins Limbang as Covid-19 green zone while Simunjan changes to red zone

KUCHING (June 20): Daro district has returned to Covid-19 green zone status after no local transmissions were reported in the last 14 days, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

This brings the number of Covid-19 green zones in the state to two, with Limbang as the only other green zone.

Menawhile, Simunjan district has changed into a Covid-19 red zone after registering 44 local transmissions in the last 14 days, bringing the total of Covid-19 red zones in the state to 32.

The other red zones are Tebedu, Matu, Julau, Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Kabong, Dalat, Bau, Meradong, Lubok Antu, Beluru, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

It added Betong district had turned into a Covid-19 yellow zone after reporting 12 locally transmitted cases for the past 14 days.

Aside from Betong, the other yellow zones are Saratok, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas.

For Marudi district, the committee said it had been reclassified as the only orange zone in the state from red zone status after reporting 40 locally transmitted cases for the past 14 days.

The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmissions as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
