KOTA KINABALU: The state government has agreed to implement the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) in Sabah and allow cross-district travel.
However, the cross-district travel is only allowed between districts in the same zone starting March 5.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, who is the Covid-19 spokesperson in Sabah announced six zones in Sabah, during the press conference today.
Zone 1 are Kota Kinabalu, Kota Belud, Ranau, Tuaran, Penampang, Putatan and Papar.Zone 2 are Beaufort, Kuala Penyu and Sipitang.
Zone 3 are Kudat, Kota Marudu and Pitas.
Zone 4 are Sandakan, Beluran, Kinabatangan and Tongod.
Zone 5 are Tawau, Semporna, Lahad Datu and Kalabakan.
Zone 6 are Keningau, Tambunan and Tenom
“Under RMCO, the state government also allows formal and informal events, social gatherings such as kenduri, weddings, engagements, receptions, akikah ceremonies, prayers for peace, tahlil, birthday celebrations, reunions, retreats and other ceremonies subject to 50 per cent of the space capacity of the premises by complying with SOPs.
“The state government has also agreed to allow barter trade and transshipment activities involving the movement of non-convention ships (NCS) from Indonesia and the Philippines,” he said.
