KOTA KINABALU: Police are searching for a Covid-19 positive patient who is believed to have disappeared before he was transported to a quarantine centre in Sandakan.
Karim Jikri, 69, was missing from his home in Kampung Kuala Tongod when a team from the Tongod Health Clinic went to pick him up around 12pm on Sunday, June 13. The team was supposed to take Karim to Sandakan for further treatment.
The team had initially gone to the house at 10am and saw the man packing his things. However, when they returned at 12pm, the man was not there.
Thinking the patient had gone to the clinic, the team returned to the clinic in search of the man but found no record of him. They then went
back to the man’s residence to search for him, but to no avail.
Following the patient’s disappearance, a report was lodged to the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the police. The MoH informed residents and locals to report the patient’s whereabouts. Authorities are continuing to search for the patient.
