KUCHING (July 2): Sarawak recorded 440 new Covid-19 cases today, a drop of 104 cases compared to the 544 cases recorded yesterday.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a Facebook post that the state recorded the fifth highest number of new cases in the country.
Selangor continued to top the tally with 2,907 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (637), Negeri Sembilan (606), and Johor (517).
“Malaysia recorded 6,982 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of positive cases nationwide to 765,949. Perlis is the only state with no Covid-19 case,” he said.
Three-digit new cases were reported in Penang (351), Pahang (329), Kedah (257), Sabah (230), Melaka (202), Perak (182), Labuan (131), and Kelantan (129).
A total of 44 new cases were recorded in Terengganu, while Putrajaya reported 20 new cases.
