Brunei only allows vaccinated drivers to enter

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) is helpingcommercial vehicle drivers register for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Its chairman, Datuk Chin Kim Hiung, said this is because the Brunei Darussalam government will only allow commercial vehicle drivers who have completed their vaccination to cross its borders.

Chin in a statement on Tuesday said the registration form for the national vaccination program can be obtained on Sabah CVLB’s Facebook page.

“We therefore urge all commercial vehicle drivers who have to travel to Sarawak to fill in the form and return it to us so we can submit it to the Covid-19 vaccination committee for immediate action,” he said.

According to Chin, CVLB is concerned about the Brunei government’s entry condition for commercial vehicle drivers.

He pointed out that commercial vehicle drivers have to go through Brunei Darussalam in order to get to Sarawak.

“With Brunei government’s requirement, many of these drivers will not be able to get the goods to Sarawak seeing that it is not easy for them to get inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Therefore the Transport Ministry, through Sabah CVLB, is in the process of collecting the drivers’ data which will be forwarded to the Covid-19 vaccination committee for immediate action,” said Chin.
