Air Selangor says it was “highly commended” at the Global Water Awards 2020 in the Public Water Agency of the Year category
“This prestigious award is a recognition of our excellent achievement in delivering clean and safe treated water to our consumers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya,” read the statement by Air Selangor.
Only thing, though, Air Selangor did not win the award
The award, called Public Water Agency of the Year was won by National Water Company of Saudi Arabia, with distinction given to Gujarat Water Infrastructure, Ltd in India.
Needless to say, netizens are confused
“Hi, Air Selangor, Congrats on your achievement. By the way, can you come out with 2021 Water Cut Calendar so we can prepare accordingly? Thanks,” read a top comment posted under the Air Selangor statement.
The water agency’s eagerness to promote something they didn’t win comes amidst yet another water cut that affected seven regions in the Klang Valley and Selangor, which experienced water supply disruption
The water supply disruption lasted for two days. It was restored at 3am today, 10 December.
