KUCHING (July 2): Two of the four inmates who escaped from Puncak Borneo Prison yesterday evening have been arrested by the prison, said Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail.
He said efforts are still being made to track down the other two inmates.
“The Padawan District police headquarters team and the Tiger Platoon of the General Operations Force (GOF) have been mobilised to help the prison to enter the nearby forested area.
“Ops Tutup has also been launched since the information was obtained Thursday afternoon,” he said when contacted.
It is understood that the four prisoners escaped from custody and fled to a forested area near the Kuching Police Training Centre in Jalan Puncak Borneo around 6pm yesterday (July 1).
