PETALING JAYA: Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Bhd today confirmed that 116 workers at both its manufacturing facilities in Shah Alam have tested positive for Covid-19 through a recent screening.
In an announcement on Bursa Malaysia, the company said it had screened a total of 2,137 workers so far.
Following this, Panasonic will be ceasing operations until further notice on the advice of the Petaling district health office. Its facilities will also be closed from Dec 21 to Dec 23 for disinfection activities.
“The safety and well-being of our employees as well as our community is of our utmost priority to contain the situation.
“The company has and will continue to adhere to Covid-19 preventive SOPs on a stringent basis.
“Disinfection exercises at our manufacturing premises and workers’ accommodation have been conducted regularly, with all the necessary precautionary measures strictly in place,” said Panasonic.
