STIDC launches OACP 2021-2025 book in fight against corruption

KUCHING (March 4): Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) has launched the Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) 2021-2025 book as a sign of its commitment in preventing corruption in the organisation.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who is also STIDC Board of Management chairman said the OACP book will serve as a guide in dealing with, and preventing corruption and improving integrity in public service delivery.

“The preparation of the OACP book is an initiative which is mandatory under Strategy 2 of the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP). It includes the governance, integrity and corruption aspects in the ogranisation and involves all fields and activities in the organisation,” he said at the launching of the book at a hotel here today.

He added that the plan is also in accordance with the state government’s integrity circular which requires all government agencies to prepare a five year OACP for a five-year period starting 2021.

Awang Tengah who is also International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Minister that with the preparation of the plan, implementation and monitoring anti-corruption activities and inculcating integrity values in the service delivery system can be carried out more effectively and systematically.

He added that STIDC produced the plan after holding a three-day workshop from Feb 16-18 which was facilitated by the Integrity and Ombudsman Unit under the Chief Minister’s Department.

The plan is focused on seven key areas, licensing, law enforcement, project management, administration, governance, procurement and programme management. Of these seven key areas, there are seven strategies, 10 objectives and 90 initiatives or action plan produced, he said.

“Our vision is towards an integrity and corruption free STIDC.”

Present were Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Assistant Minister of Urban Development and Resources Datu Len Talif Salleh, State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources Datu Zaidi Mahdi and Sarawak Land and Survey Department director Abdullah Julaihi.
