KUCHING (Aug 25): The relevant federal agency has been urged to grant identified Sarawak agencies access to the MySejahtera system to assist Sarawakians who have yet to receive their digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) deputy secretary-general Sih Hua Tong said there have been numerous reported cases involving fully vaccinated individuals in Sarawak who have yet to receive their digital certificates.

“Many claimed to have waited for about two months but still no news yet.

“Many have even attempted multiple times asking via MySejahtera help desk and hotline, and even went to the vaccination centres but to no avail,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said there were also cases of those who have been fully vaccinated and who have received their digital certificate, only to find the certificate only showing the first dose or the information registered in the certificate did not tally with the actual vaccination information.

“These included wrong date(s), wrong MyKad number and wrong vaccine type.

“Even those who had their MyKad number keyed in incorrectly were not able to get them amended at the profile page of the MySejahtera system,” he added.

Sih said those who have encountered such issues have their livelihood affected.

“Many employers who plan to hire prospective employees require them to show their digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate prior to employment.

“There are also cases where those without the digital certificates were prohibited from entering certain offices, shopping malls, cafes or restaurants,” he said.

He said all these have caused a lot of inconveniences and stress to affected individuals.

“This issue can easily be resolved if access to the MySejahtera system is granted to pre-identified Sarawak agencies.

“It is unfriendly if the system keeps making those affected to go from one place to another just for the sake of getting their vaccination records corrected,” he said.
