Man succumbs to injuries sustained from crash at Jalan Miri-Pujut

MIRI (June 27): A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at Miri Hospital late yesterday afternoon after he was brought in from an accident site at Jalan Miri-Pujut.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said based on documentation, the man was from Desa Indah 3 of Bandar Baru Permyjaya in Tudan, here.

“The man was pronounced dead while still receiving treatment at Miri Hospital,” he said in a press statement.

Alexsonsaid based preliminary investigation at the crash site indicated that the victim was heading towards the city from Pujut.

“At one point, however, he might have lost control of his car, which then veered off to the left shoulder of the road before crashing into a tree and later, another car parked in front of a fish store by the road,” he said, adding that apart from the victim, there was no other casualty.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
