KUCHING (July 12): Lundu District has been classified as red zone after reporting 59 local Covid-19 infections for the past 14 days, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
With the addition of Lundu into the list of red zone districts, the committee said Sarawak currently has 21 red zone districts, with Kuching on the lead with 1,013 local infections recorded in the past 14 days.
The other red zone districts are Lundu with 56 cases recorded in past 14 days, Saratok (168), Tebedu (88), Telang Usan (182), Song (141), Bau (165), Meradong (152), Tatau (113), Sri Aman (96), Kanowit (92), Selangau (55), Subis (174), Mukah (187), Sarikei (181), Samarahan (100), Serian (139), Kuching (1,013), Kapit (86), Bintulu (256), Miri (338) and Sibu (469).
The committee added that Dalat district had been reclassified as orange zone from yellow after reporting 22 local cases for the past 14 days, while Sebauh reverted to yellow zone from orange after 18 cases recorded over the same period.
Other orange zone districts were Dalat with 22 local cases over the past 14 days, Betong (24), Lubok Antu (22), Bukit Mabong (23) and Asajaya (26).
Yellow zone districts were Sebauh with 18 local cases recorded in the past 14 days, Pakan (14), Matu (13), Kabong (six), Simunjan (11), Tanjung Manis (10), Julau (nine), Marudi (15), Beluru (5), Limbang (5), Pusa (4), Belaga (11) and Lawas (2).
Daro remains the sole green zone district in Sarawak to date.
The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmissions as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
