KUCHING (Sept 26): The Sarawak Health Department declared another Covid-19 community cluster today involving a longhouse in Sungai Dabai, Marudi which had been under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

The cluster dubbed the Julin Dabai Cluster saw 70 positive cases including the index case out of 84 individuals screened, and 63 of the cases were reported today.

At the same time, SDMC also announced the end of five clusters – the Kampung Paya Mebi Cluster, Lorong Teruntum Cluster and Braang Payang Cluster, all in Kuching; the Se-Menyan Cluster in Sibu and Jalan Hulu Engkamop Cluster in Pakan – as they did not record any new positive cases in the last 28 days.

Currently Sarawak has 127 active clusters, with seven reported 139 new Covid-19 cases today.

The clusters that recorded new cases were the Julin Dabai Cluster in Marudi (63), Kampung Bungey 2 Cluster in Betong (33), Long Urun Cluster in Belaga (20), Haidah Cluster in Bintulu (16), Duras Cluster in Serian (5), Batu 10 Jalan Oya Cluster in Sibu (1) and KM20 Jalan Betong Cluster in Betong (1).
