Covid-19: Sarawak continues to record four-digit cases with 1,772 cases

KUCHING (Aug 22): Sarawak continued to record four-digit new Covid-19 cases today with the latest cases registering at 1,772, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

It said in its Covid-19 daily update that the state also reported one death case, bringing the death toll to 498.

“A total of 31 districts reported new cases, the bulk of which went to Kuching with 725 cases followed by Samarahan (242), Bau (167), and Lundu (129).

“The other districts were Serian (99), Belaga (82), Tatau (58), Sibu (46), Bintulu (39), Mukah (36), Asajaya (20), Pusa (17), Simunjan (16), Miri (14), Tebedu (14), Dalat (10), Sri Aman (9), Subis (9), Saratok (6), Lawas (5), Selangau (5), Song (4), Kapit (3), Lubok Antu (3), Kanowit (3), Daro (2), Betong (2), Limbang (2), Beluru (2), Matu (2), and Sebauh (1),” it said.

The latest cases brought the state’s total number of infections to 98,300.
