Police issue 31 compounds for SOP violations statewide since yesterday – SDMC

KUCHING (July 23): The police have issued 31 compounds for various violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in Sarawak since yesterday.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), 15 compounds were issued in Kuching, Bintulu (9), Miri (6) and one in Padawan district.

The committee said 31 compounds were issued for failure to check-in via MySejahtera (17), performing non-permitted activities without practising physical distancing (6), not wearing any facemask (5), premises owner failing to operate within stipulated time (1), worker not working within stipulated time (1) and going out of an Enhanced Movement Control Order area without police permission (1).

Since March 18 last year, the committee said the police have issued 9,488 compounds.

Meanwhile, the local authorities under the Ministry of Local Government and Housing had issued four compounds for SOPs violations, with Kapit District Council issuing two compounds, Kota Samarahan Municipal Council one and Serian District Council one.

All compounds were issued for the violations of failure to update or incomplete record book.

SDMC said the local authorities had issued a total of 1,349 compounds since Feb 1 this year.
