Moderate quake hits Mindanao, Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale struck Mindanao, Philippines at 8.09am today.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the epicentre of the quake was 85 kilometers (km) southeast of Davao, Philippines with a depth of 79 km.

However, it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia. – Bernama
