KOTA KINABALU: A senior police officer was charged in a Magistrate’s Court here with failing to report to work continuosly within 21 days.
No plea was recorded from Indah Budiman Bambang, 40, who appeared before magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie in a virtual hearing on Monday.
The accused had allegedly committed the offence without any valid reason at the Criminal Investigation Division office at Kota Kinabalu police station from October 8, 2018 at 5pm to February 29, 2020 at 5pm.
The charge was under Section 86 (1) of the Police Act 1967 which carries a jail term of up to 12 months, upon conviction.
The court fixed July 14 to re-mention the case and the accused was denied bail.
