Kuching police arrest naked drunk man on motorcycle

KUCHING (July 9): A man believed to be drunk was arrested by the police after attempting to hit a roadblock at Jalan Batu Kawa here today.

Padawan deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong said the 28-year-old man was riding a motorcycle naked at around 9.38am.

He added that the man was initially detained by officers at the roadblock for inspection – however he ignored it and attempted to ram the on-duty personnel.

“The man tried to ram the on-duty personnel, and that the personnel had to kick the front tyre of the motorcycle, causing the suspect to fall. Further inspection has found the man was drunk and acted aggressively.

“The man was arrested and handed over to the ambulance staff to send him to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment,” he said in a statement, today.

Lim said that the man’s family had also been informed of the arrest.

It is learnt that the man is having mental problems, according to his family,

The man will be detained for further investigation under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a civil servant from performing his duties.
