Man in Miri remanded until July 11 to facilitate probe into criminal intimidation case

Police personnel arrest the suspect at Jalan Raja in Miri at around 10.15pm last night for allegedly making criminal threats against his wife and children.

MIRI (July 7): A 39-year-old man has been remanded for four days until July 11 to facilitate police investigation into a criminal intimidation case.

The suspect, who is local, was arrested last night for allegedly threatening to kill his wife and children after a heated argument at their house in Kuala Baram here at around 2pm.

He was rounded up at around 10.15pm at Jalan Raja here following a police report lodged by his wife.

It is learnt that the couple had an argument after the suspect discovered that their children had caused damage to his belongings.

He allegedly threatened to kill the wife and their son which prompted the victim to lodged the report.

The suspect is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
