KOTA SAMARAHAN (July 5): Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) is collaborating with eight supermarkets here for Community Pantry food aid to assist the needy.

“This programme was initiated by MPKS’ Community Development section with supermarkets here volunteering to participate.

“During such trying times, we must help those who are desperate and in need. I urge more supermarkets in the state to volunteer,” said Minos when met at LePaPa Supermarket here yesterday.

Community Pantry organising chairman Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok revealed that CS Supermarket and Choice Supermarket will be joining the programme.

Sim said although the government has provided various aids to those in need, there are those who were left out especially individuals who have lost their jobs.

“Our eight partners help those in need by giving away food aid as they were their customers before and would be again in better times,” he added.
