Covid-19: New cases in Sarawak up to 376 with one death today

KUCHING (June 30): Sarawak has recorded one death and 376 new cases due to Covid-19 today, said State Disaster Management Committee.

In a statement, the committee said a death involving a 75-year-old man from Kapit who succumbed to Covid-19 at the Kapit Hospital.

“The deceased was tested positive on June 20 and he suffered from comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, gout, heart and chronic kidney illnesses.”

On the new cases today, the committee said 63.30 per cent or 238 of the cases were reported in Kuching, Sibu, Bau, Mukah and Telang Usan districts.

Kuching continued to lead with 94 new cases, followed by Sibu (63), Bau (32), Mukah (28), Telang Usan (21), Serian (17), Sarikei (14), Samarahan (14), Sri Aman (13), Miri (10), Selangau (9), Bintulu (9), Kanowit (9), Subis (7), Meradong (7), Saratok (6), Lundu (5), Kapit (5), Dalat (3), Asajaya (3), Pakan (2), Tebedu (2), Tatau (2) and Lawas (1).

As of today, the committee said the state had recorded a cumulative case of 64,851 and a death toll of 409.
