No dine-in, park and dine under NPR Phase One in Sarawak

DIne-in services are still not allowed under the NRP Phase One for Sarawak.

KUCHING (June 29): Eateries are still not allowed to offer dine-in or park and dine services despite being allowed to open till 10pm daily under standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued for the National Recovery Plan (NRP) Phase One in Sarawak.

According to the SOPs released by the National Security Council (MKN) today (June 29), this restriction covers restaurants, shops that serve food, mobile hawkers, food courts, hawker centres, and roadside stalls or kiosks.

“Only takeaways, drive-through services, or delivery services are allowed,” said the SOPs.

Enforcement of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) Phase One for Sarawak begins today (June 29). No end date was given for the phase.

Under NRP Phase One in Sarawak, retail outlets and convenience stores are allowed to open but are only allowed to sell daily necessities.

Supermarkets, hypermarkets, and shopping malls can operate but only the food and daily necessities sections can be open to customers.

Also allowed to operate are wet markets, public markets, wholesale markets, and tamu under local councils; hardware stores; electrical and electronic shops (for repairs only); packaging and printing; healthcare; automotive sales; maintenance and repairs outlets; and pet food stores.

Agriculture produce stores, laundries (including launderettes), optical shops, stationery shops, book stores, and other businesses permitted by the Local Government and Housing Ministry and Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs upon approval by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) can also operate.
