Sarawak orange zones down to two, 29 districts remain as red zones

KUCHING (June 29): The Covid-19 orange zones districts in Sarawak today went down two after Kabong reverted to yellow for recording only 20 cases in the last 14 days, according to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

This brought the number of yellow zone districts in Sarawak to eight, which were Kabong, Dalat, Marudi, Beluru, Limbang, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas.

The remaining two orange zone districts were Lubok Antu and Betong, of which the former recorded 21 cases and the latter recorded 39 in the last two weeks.

A total of 29 districts remained classified as red zones, with Kuching topping the list with 51 new Covid-19 cases today alone.

Other red zone districts are Saratok, Simunjan, Tebedu, Matu, Julau, Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Bau, Meradong, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases over the past two weeks as a green zone, one to 20 local transmission cases over 14 days as yellow zones, 21 to 40 as orange zones, and 41 and more as red zones.
