Maybank users have reported experiencing issues when trying to access the Maybank2u mobile app and website throughout this morning. Prior to this, the bank also recently faced an unexpected downtime on both platforms just last week.
At the time of writing, both of the online services are still inaccessible to users and the cause of the problem has yet to be revealed. According to the recent tweets by Maybank2u users, they are unable to login to either platform due to a communication error. The website, on the other hand, is accessible but will hold to a crawl whenever a user attempts to sign in.
Rest assured, we working closely to rectify this issue and it will be back to normal soon. Alternatively, you may use our MAE by Maybank2u apps to perform your banking transaction.
We appreciate your kind patience and cooperation. Thank you. (2/2)

As an alternative, the bank is advising customers to utilise the MAE app for their transactions until the issue has been resolved. To recap, the MAE app was launched early last month and has been positioned as the replacement for the existing Maybank2u app in the near future.

Based on the tweet replies, it also seems that Maybank has yet to be able to determine the recovery time for the ongoing issue. We’ll keep you posted once we’ve received an update the bank.
