KOTA KINABALU: The road concessionaire and Ranau Public Works Department (PWD) have been instructed to take immediate action on areas in Kundasang which were affected by landslides due to continuous rain last week.
Deputy Chief Minister cum Kundasang assemblyman Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam said the concessionaire needed to take immediate action because some of the roads affected are unsafe and thus dangerous to road users.
He said that the condition of the dirt road in Kampung Pinausok Kauluan is dangerous and advised residents using it to exercise care.
Dr Joachim, who is also the Minister of Industrial Development, hoped that the residents of Kundasang especially those affected, would be patient as the Movement Control Order restricted the movement of everyone, including the road concessionaire.
He said this after a working visit to Kampung Naradau, Kauluan, Cinta Mata, Lembah Permai, Kinasaraban, Sokid Bundu Tuhan, Lahanas and Kundasang lama (Nagai).
Landslides and road damage in the Kundasang state constituency had attracted the attention and reactions of various parties.
