5 localities in S’wak placed under EMCO

KUCHING (June 21): Five more locations in Sarawak have been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

In the statement, the committee said the new locations placed under EMCO until July 4 in Sri Aman are Rh. Majeng in Kampung Po Ai, Rh. Kedeni in Kampung Batu Besai and Rh. Mengga in Kampung Batu Besai.

The Balingian Power Generation workers quarter at Jalan Sibu-Mukah, Mukah and Rh. Gabriel anak Ikau, Sungai Lepah in Tanjung Manis are also placed under EMCO until July 6.

Meanwhile, SDMC said that the EMCO for eight localities statewide have been lifted. They are Rh. Bair anak Mam, KM28, Jalan Samarakan in Tatau; Rh. Setinggan Batu 6 in Bintulu; Rh. Clement Bayang, KM30 Jalan Bintulu-Tatau in Bintulu; Rh. Rentap, Sungai Rayah, Bintangor in Meradong; Rh. Barang, Sungai Melinau in Bukit Mabong; Rh. Kelly Kumpang Langgir, Engkelili in Sri Aman; Rh. Banying Kumpang Langgir, Engkelili in Sri Aman; and Rh. Patrick Andin anak Uli, Sungai Serakit in Sebauh.

The committee added that the EMCO at Rh. Demai, Sungai Lelabi, Bintangor in Meradong will be lifted tomorrow (June 22).
