MIRI (June 15): A Magistrates’ Court here today remanded an 18-year-old for four days to facilitate an investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
Magistrate Eleanor Mako Timothy issued the remand order on the suspect, who was arrested at the Miri Central police station on Monday after being brought in by the complainant for allegedly stealing two mobile phones.

The complainant claimed he was having a shower when the suspect allegedly broke into his rented room at Jalan Rice Mill.
Upon returning from the bathroom, he realised his two mobile phones were missing.
When he checked closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage, he found an unknown man had broken in.
One of the complainant’s friends recognised the suspect, which led to him being caught by the complainant and then being handed over to the police.
