SIBU (June 13): A total of 38 compounds were issued during a raid on an entertainment outlet at Jalan Pahlawan 7 here early this morning.
According to Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, the raid, which was conducted at 1.15am, was led by the Prevention and Community Safety Division head DSP Ariffin Bahar .
“The outlet was raided after being suspected of operating during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
“Upon inspection, 24 men and 14 women including the owner were enjoying themselves inside the premises,” he said in a statement.
Stanley said the owner of the entertainment outlet, who is a woman, was slapped with a compound of RM10,000 under Regulation 7(2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (No.2) 2021.
As for the patrons, he said they were each issued a compound of RM2,000 each under Regulation 7(1) of the same Act.
