Sabah civil servants also contribute to Covid-19 fund

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah civil servants in the Grade 29 to Staff Grade group will be contributing a portion of their allowance to the Sabah State Disaster Fund (Covid-19) for two months.

The contribution will be deducted from their June and July’s Entertainment Fixed Allowance (ITK) or Public Service Fixed Allowance (ITKA).

This is in line with the announcement by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali recently, that servants of certain grades will be contributing a portion of their allowances starting this month, for three months, to the National Disaster Relief Trust Fund to cover Covid-19 related expenses.

According to a statement from the State Secretary’s office on Thursday, the implementation of this contribution is the same as for federal civil servants which is 50 per cent deduction from ITK for Staff Grade I to Staff III, 50 per cent from ITK for JUSA Grade A, 20 per cent from ITK for JUSA Grade B, 10 per cent from ITK for JUSA Grade C, five per cent of ITK/ITKA for Grades 44 to 54 and RM10 from ITKA for Grades 29 to 41.

The statement also said that this contribution does not involve employees of state government-linked companies.
