PENAMPANG: The Penampang police have increased the roadblock in the districts of Penampang and Putatan from four to five.
Penampang police chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the fifth police roadblock is at Jalan Tulagis along the Putatan/Penampang road.
“Besides adding another roadblock, we have also moved the roadblock along Papar/Kota Kinabalu to Kampung Dumpil to ensure no border crossing by Penampang and Putatan residents,” he said during a check at one of the five police roadblocks in Penampang and Putatan on Tuesday.
The Penampang police contingent have set up five police roadblocks along Jalan Penampang/Kota Kinabalu, Jalan Penampang Bypass, Km 5 Jalan Penampang/Tambunan, Jalan Kampung Dumpil and Jalan Tulagis along Jalan Putatan/Penampang.
Haris said police have also identified two alternative roads that have been used by motorists to avoid traffic jam during the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0.
“We have identified these two alternative roads, namely along Jalan Kobusak next to the Shell petrol station and along the entrance of Cyber City.
“Police have closed these roads temporarily by placing barricades.
“We therefore hope residents staying near or along these alternative roads will give their full cooperation to the police by not removing the barricades,” he said.
