Sarawak again records second highest new Covid-19 cases at 707

KUCHING (June 8): Sarawak recorded the second highest number of new Covid-19 positive cases in the country for the third consecutive day with 707 new cases today, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

In a Facebook post, he said the new cases brought the state’s cumulative number of Covid-19 cases to 52,581.

Selangor topped the list with 1,524 cases, while Negeri Sembilan held the third spot with 505 cases.

Three-digit cases were also reported in Kuala Lumpur (466), Johor (456), Sabah (350), Melaka (314), Perak (225), Kelantan (204), Labuan (191), Penang (185), Pahang (157), Kedah (148), and Terengganu (106).

Putrajaya only recorded 27 cases, while Perlis had just one case.

In total, Malaysia recorded 5,566 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of positive cases to 627,652 nationwide.
