Waste collection in certain areas under DBKU, MBKS on eve of Hari Raya

KUCHING (May 7): Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd yesterday announced that certain areas under the jurisdiction of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) and Kuching South City Council (MBKS) with Thursday collection will be serviced by the company a day earlier next week which is on May 12.

It is done in preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations while the schedule for areas with Wednesday collection shall however remain unchanged.

Trienekens’ Department Manager of Logistics Operations, Mason Barau, informed that the operation teams will work double shifts on the eve of Hari Raya to ensure that all waste are cleared in time before the celebration.

“The waste volumes are expected to increase during the days running up to the celebration. We would like to seek the public’s cooperation to pack their waste properly to prevent spillages which will ease the collection process,” added Mason.

The affected areas in DBKU are: Gita/ Kampung Lintang (Taman Kandis, Jalan Bunga Tongkeng, Jalan Bunga Melor, Jalan Bunga Teratai, Jalan Bunga Tanjung, Taman Gita Jaya, Taman Maple, Jln Bunga Tanjung, Gita Kubur, Kedai Semarak, Jalan Bunga Rampai, Kampung Lintang, Jln Merdeka, Kampung Tanjung, Kampung Sinjan, Kampung Tupong).

Sourabaya/Demak/Kampung Bintawa (Taman Sourabaya Heights, Taman Demak Indah, Taman Sourabaya Indah, Taman Lebunda, Tinggian Demak, Demak Laut Industrial Estate, Sepakat Jaya, Pristana Garden, Demak Baru, Demak Jaya, Kampung Bintawa Batu, Pine Villa Garden Homes, Medan Hamidah, Kampung Boyan until Bintawa Ulu).

Jalan Patingan (Jalan Haji Taha, Jalan P. The areas under MBKS jurisdiction are Kampung Tabuan (Protocol Jalan Kampung Tabuan Melayu, Kampung Tabuan Lot, Kampung Tabuan Dani, Kampung Tabuan Ulu, Yoshi Square Commercial Area, Jalan Kampung Simpang Tiga, Jalan Manggis, Jalan Lumba Kuda).

“The collection services for the above areas shall return to the normal schedule on May 14, 2021 (Friday) and the collection schedule for residential areas other than these locations shall remain as usual,” said Mason.

Residents are reminded to push out their wheel bins earlier to prevent missed collection. The public are also reminded to maintain the cleanliness of their neighbourhood by ensuring that additional wastes that cannot fit into wheel bins are to be sealed inside garbage bags, tied securely next to the bins.
