KUCHING (Feb 28): A total of nine out of the 27 active Covid-19 clusters in Sarawak reported new positive cases today, said State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
According to the committee’s daily Covid-19 update, the Jalan Muhibbah Cluster in Betong division had recorded 15 new cases today bringing the cumulative positive cases to 67.
“As many as 1,216 individuals have been screened and 709 of them had tested negative, while 440 people are still waiting for their laboratory results.”
Emperoh Jambu Cluster in Kuching also had reported five new cases with the total positive cases detected so far due to the cluster at 165. A total of 660 individuals had been swabbed, 333 were tested negative while another 162 were still waiting for their laboratory results.
“Another active cluster in Kuching, Jalan Green Cluster, has detected one new case with the total cases detected to date at 21. A total of 250 individuals have been screened, 215 were tested negative while 14 are still pending their laboratory results.”
In Sri Aman, the committee reported the Kejatau Cluster had recorded one new case today, bringing the cumulative positive cases from the cluster to 20. A total of 191 individuals were screened and 171 of them were tested negative.
“In Kapit, four new cases were detected from the Jan Yong Cluster with the total patients tested positive so far at 24. A total of 98 individuals were tested and 74 were tested negative.”
Another cluster in Kapit, Gelong Cluster, had seen three new cases today, with the total positive cases standing at 179. A total of 226 individuals were screened and 47 were tested negative.
In Beluru, the committee reported two new cases were detected from the Seruas Cluster with the cumulative number of people infected till date at 83. A total of 385 individuals had been screened, 294 were tested negative while eight were still pending laboratory results.
“As for the active Rakut Cluster in Miri, one new case has been reported today with the total cases from the cluster at 188. As many as 920 individuals had been screened, 720 were still tested negative and 12 are still waiting for laboratory results.”
Lastly, the committee stated that 12 new cases had been detected from the Pasai Cluster with the cumulative positive cases detected to date at 2,664. A total of 41,500 had been swabbed, 38,261 tested negative and 575 were still pending laboratory results.
The remaining active clusters that did not report any new cases today were Buloh Cluster (Selangau), Jalan Ho Pin Cluster (Samarahan), Sungai Bakong Cluster (Meradong), Geronggang Cluster (Sibu), Mas Merah Cluster (Sibu), Univista Cluster (Samarahan), Kampung Sungai Maong Cluster (Kuching), Kidurong Dua Cluster (Bintulu), Nanga Lijian Cluster (Julau), Sebangkoi Cluster (Sri Aman), Jun Heng Cluster (Bintulu), Bintang Daily Cluster (Meradong), Jalan Pengiran Cluster (Matu), Tabong Cluster (Bau), Indah Riang Cluster (Kuching), Bedayan Cluster (Serian), Bukit Sekubong Cluster (Sebauh) and Jelita Cluster (Miri).
The sub-cluster of Pasai Cluster, namely Tangap (Subis) Sub-cluster, also did not report any new cases today.
