A woman in Penang was recently robbed at knifepoint by two men posing as deliverymen
According to Harian Metro, the incident took place around 10.30am on Monday, 15 February, at a flat on Van Praagh Road.
Two men showed up at the victim’s home with a box and asked the 30-year-old housewife to sign a paper for the delivery. As she opened the door, one of the men rushed in, pointed a knife at her, and told her not to scream.
The robbers stole a gold necklace worth RM1,200 and demanded RM50,000 in cash.
When the woman failed to hand over the money, the robbers took away her three-month-old son.
Northeast district police chief ACP Soffian Santong told the Malay daily, “The frustrated robbers decided to hide the baby in a polystyrene box inside the home. Meanwhile, the victim’s other three-year-old daughter was not harmed by the suspect.”
The baby was found with his mouth gagged and duct-taped. Free Malaysia Today reported that the victim’s husband was at work during the ordeal but rushed home after being alerted.
The couple thought their baby was abducted and searched the entire flats area for the child. After 30 minutes, they heard muffled cries coming from a white polystyrene box in one of their rooms.

Police are actively looking for the suspects and are going through CCTV footage for clues
The case is being investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code.
