MIRI (July 5): A 28-year-old woman was remanded for four days until July 9 to facilitate police investigation into a criminal intimidation case.
The suspect, a local, was nabbed at Kampung Pasir Lutong yesterday at around 11am, following a police report lodged by the victim, who is also the suspect’s neighbour.
It is learnt that prior to her arrest, the suspect had allegedly made verbal threats to the victim, which escalated into an altercation between the two.
During the altercation, it is learnt that the suspect had tried to attack the victim using a sharp weapon.
Police also seized the sharp weapon believed to have been used by the suspect in the incident during her arrest.
Police are investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
