SANDAKAN: The water supply problem at the police quarters of Taman Tinosan Mile 4 will be resolved once repair works are done and the old water tank replaced.

Works Minister Dato Sri Bung Moktar Radin said that the works and the replacement will be carried out soon, once the report is received and application for the allocation approved.

He said that the residents are worried because each time there is a water supply disruption, it takes days for the supply to return to normal.

“The disruption is caused by the faulty main water tank that supplies water to the residential area,” he said.

Bung added that he had requested the Sandakan Water Department  engineer to submit the report and the application for the allocation to the Water Department so that the problem can be rectified.

“During my visit, I found that the water tank is no longer functional because it is broken and needs to be  fixed immediately. The water is supplied to the police quarters, including the police headquarters here,” he said during his visit to the site.

He was accompanied by Sandakan police chief Assistant Commissioner Azhar Mohd Hamin, deputy permanent secretary I of his ministry, Benedict Asmat and Sandakan Water Department engineer, Duane Alvin William.
