PETALING JAYA: Veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin has urged Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to vote against the budget at the third reading instead of just abstaining or not attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting.
In a Facebook post, Kadir told Tengku Razaleigh, who is fondly known as Ku Li, that principles without any action will leave no effect.
“I respect Ku Li’s principles, but if Ku Li decides not to attend Parliament, Muhyiddin will face one less opposing vote.
“It’s better for Ku Li to attend and vote against the budget of this illegitimate government,” he said.
Tengku Razeleigh and Dr Mahathir Mohamad held a rare joint press conference yesterday, hinting that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration could fall at the final budget vote and urging MPs to go beyond party lines in voting for the supply bill.
Tengku Razeleigh said he would not vote for the approval of the final budget, although he did not specify if he would be voting against it or abstaining.
