LUNDU (July 8): Police arrested a woman and two men in Kampung Tebuan Dayak here last night on suspicion of drug trafficking.
Lundu police chief DSP Damataries Lautin said the woman, 39, and men, both aged 28, were caught during a raid around 10.15pm on a fruit orchard in the village.
“The result of the raid and the inspection found a transparent plastic bag where there were transparent plastic packets containing a crystalline powder suspected to be the drug syabu.
“A dark blue bag containing pills, believed to be Erimin-5 pills, were also found during the raid. The weight of the crystalline powder is estimated at 83.83 grams, while the weight of the pills suspected to be Erimin-5 is believed to be 9.01 grams,” he said in a statement today.
He said the total street value of the drugs was RM8,450.
The suspects and seized items were brought to the Lundu police headquarters for further action.
Damataries said the case is being investigated under Section 39 (b) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and under Section 12 (2) of the same Act.
He said the three suspects claimed to have been abusing drugs for two years.
“The suspects said that they got their syabu supply from a man whom they said they only know as Alex. They also claimed that they had forgotten the man’s telephone number,” he said.
He added the suspects will be brought to the local forensic identification centre for fingerprinting and then remanded for further investigation.
“The urine tests of the three suspects were also found to be positive for methamphetamine,” he said.
